Colour Me Once - Group Show @ BSG Curated by Tegan Iversen

I was lucky enough to feature in a group show curated by the multitalented Tegan Iversen that  celebrated everything to do with colour. I took this prompt (very, really) quite literally and focused on  the versatility of three single colours and all that those colours could evoke and represent when isolated, and applied as they were. I think my works helped anchor each colour section down along the rainbow gradient salon hang.

The three colours I chose were loosely based on myself. Without going into too much detail, 'Lime  yellow', represented the abject, my least favourite colour; 'Blue black' and 'Moonstone/ fleshy' represents my most preferred colours and tones to wear, see and work with.

From Brunswick Street GalleryColour me once is an exhibition exploring colour. Each artist will select one colour to use as a starting point to create an artwork. The exhibition will explore the ways in which artists approach colour & the variety of ways colour can be shown in art.

Featuring works by Aleisha Earp, Anna MacNeil, April JY Kim, Belinda Wiltshire, Brigit Annie Lambert, Camille Thomas, Cassandra Martin, Edith Rewa, Eliza Stribling, Fiona Gately, Freya Alexander, Hayley Martin, Hilary Green, Isabella Kottek, Jacqui Burnes, Jess Milne, Jodi Wiley, Kalindy Williams, Kitty Chrystal, Laura Blythman, Lauren Guymer, Lucy Dellar, Madeleine Stamer, Madison Griffiths, Neva Hosking, Phoebe Beard, Polly Hollyoak, Sorcha Avalon Mackenzie, Spenceroni, Tegan Iversen, and Vonne Beyer.

Group Show @ Brunswick Street Gallery

In conjunction with Yarra Youth Services, Block Studios and International Women's Day, I exhibited two paintings for the group show, Fem Fatale at Brunswick Street Gallery, with a group of amazing other artists who all made work that challenged ideas surrounding current societal structures. This show was curated by Rebecca Sacchero and also exhibited Emma Jensen, QQQ NeNe, Jacob Coppedge, Pip Griffin, Jasmin Pickup, and Maddy Cleeve-gerkens. Here is a picture of my two paintings in the background and beautiful structures made by Pip Griffin.

Fem Fatale ran from February 28 - March 13.

2 become 1

In an attempt to bridge the distance between my paintings and illustrations here is a recent experiment that will hopefully lead to more.

F*EMS 8 and Exhibition

Responding to the theme 'Lost and Found', I drew black and white drawing of bodies finding themselves through using their body. For the exhibition held at the Queen Victoria Women's Centre, I painted a series of eight that follow along the same idea.

Keep Brave

For the second edition of Keep Brave I had five artworks published and felt very very grateful for the organisational gods working with me and submitting my work on time and for the outrageously talented Daisy @queen_dee_licious for choosing me to be apart of her gang.

These works are based on the theme 'Empowerment' and, in true form include text and moving colours.

Feel free to purchase a copy of your own @ http://keepbrave.bigcartel.com/product/keep-brave-2-zine
